I have been a survival and bushcraft enthusiast for about 40 years I got started at an early age with the movie Jeremiah Johnson starring Robert Redford and I hounded my mother incessantly until she bought me the book wilderness survival skills by Larry Dean Olson who was the survival expert used for content in the movie.

I have been able to learn from some of the best survival instructors on the planet through books videos and hands-on instruction. And I believe my accumulated knowledge could help some of the younger people today so that’s why I’ve started this blog. I never really thought about the availability of knowledge about survival and bushcraft until I started talking to some of the younger people in my area and realize none of them had any real idea of what it took to be a bush crafter or survival hobbyist. It is my hope that what I have to offer can be helpful to you and help smooth your journey into making the outdoors a comfortable and beautiful place just as it is for me.
